Visited today, kids facilities excellent, soft play was brilliant at keeping kids entertained however the food was shocking...the worst we have eaten. Three out of the four adult meals was inedible, one bounced and the individual was being sick 10 mins after eating, prawns that tasted past their sell by date and very odd tasting steak....in line with previous reviews staff not interested at all, after informing staff we received a shrug and 'I'll tell the chef'. By all means take the kids for a run around but just have a cup of tea and eat elsewhere / home.

On a rare mid week day off and a drive in the countryside we unexpectedly came across the bungalow inn today, what a hidden gem, beautiful setting, warm and cosy inside, friendly staff, gorgeous food and beautifully presented, spotlessly clean, we will without a doubt be back, with friends, excellent

We stayed at the forge hotel last night and as we were offered a free mini bus taxi to the bungalow inn that is where we went for our dinner. I have to say what a delightful start to our holiday, we ate in the main resturant as we have no children to entertain, it was cozy and clean, the young lady behind the bar was friendly and attentive, nothing was too much trouble for her and the food (we all had sirloin steaks) were cooked to perfection. Would always stay at the forge and come for dinner here it was a lovely start to our holiday .

Since my last visit which was around June time of this year on visiting today I was shocked at the price increase, I feel the restaurant
is definitely not in keeping with cost - at the prices now being charged the surroundings do not reflect the cost of the food. we always always have to clean the table with baby wipes due to the stickiness of the tables, you would be amazed at the colour of the wet wipes when finished - the chairs are grubby and the floor is always messy, today my daughter took her toddler into the mother and baby room but was unable to use the loo due to it being full to the brim and just about ready to over flow - the main toilet block then had to be used, these toilets are always undesirable to use - wet floors, tissue thrown around, dirty toilet bowls, the smell in there is overpowering and the majority of lights are not working, the staff are generally miserable and unhelpful - the girl that was taking orders today at the till came across as being down right rude and more interested in her mobile phone that seeing to customers.
I have never had the pleasure of seeing the kitchen, for which I'm thankful, I can only hope the standard of hygiene is better in that area than any where else in the establishment, We only ever go here because of the soft play area for the children - we've always felt in the past that although it's a pretty rough and scruffy place the food is edible considering the price and the children always enjoy the play area very much - that was until this astronomical price increase happened - this place is dirty and the food is not worth the prices you now have to pay - we will not be going again !

Have avoided the bungalow inn the last few months as we felt standards here had slipped, however as the weather was so awful yesterday i decided to get a few of the girls together with the kids and off we went. I must say the menu has changed since we were last there (much improved) the playroom was clean, the staff were constantly sweeping up food that children had dropped, even the main bar had more life in it, the staff were friendly, helpful, and the food was amazing, we stayed all afternoon. Well done bungalow inn you have really pulled your socks up, we will be returning not only with the kids but also with our other halves to enjoy your food in the adult resturant.

We came across this establishment whilst travelling through the area. I have to say I was a little surprised at the poor comments written below as my family and I had a an excellent time here! The staff couldn't do enough for us and the food was excellent! Resonably priced as well. Maybe the baby changing room could do with some attention but other than that I can not find fault . We will be returning again when passing through .

Environment - good intentions for plenty of play areas for kids, but poorly thought out.

Food - absolutely terrible, one dish was uneatable - one bite and I demanded a refund for just that dish alone, but they refused to honor the refund. They were very unhelpful, bordering on rude.

They're only interested in making money than customer service or quality of food.

AVOID!

We were recommended to go to this pub by The Forge accommodation where we were staying pre flight. We had free transport to the pub along with another couple. The pub looks lovely from the outside and also the same on entering although the biggest thing we noticed was the complete silence and lack of any atmosphere. There were 2 other couples in the pub. On asking for drinks, the bar staff were very unfriendly. We ordered our food and had to find ourselves where the cutlery was. I just ordered a chicken burger with a sauce and my husband a beef burger. When my food arrived and the girl had gone I noticed my sauce was not with my chicken burger but after waiting a while for a member of staff to come back in the bar I decided to eat my meal before it was completely cold ! As I had no sauce the burger was extremely dry and I have to say the most tasteless burger I had every tried - I couldnt eat it all and really didnt enjoy it. When I eventually saw a member of staff and told them they just shrugged and said the chef must have forgotten to put in on and in any event the sauce is included in the price of the burger !!! Customer service at its best?? Whilst we were eating - because the quiet of the place was almost oppressive I played some music quietly on my mobile phone ! Couldnt wait to get out of the place and wont be going back - even if we do stay at the Forge again with free transport offered ! no thanks !

The only thing that can be said about Bungalow Inn is stay well clear. I had my 50th birthday party here on 26th october 2013. We had to give our orders for food well in advance because there were so many of us. You would think because of this it would all run smothly but the food was terrible. The starters were cold, The steak,s were inedible, the lasagna had no meat and was cold. We had to share 2 salt and pepper pots amoungst 30 of us!. We had to ask several times for cutlery. The staff realy didnt know what they were doing. I had my grand children with me and they had to be watched because other big children were playing to rough. Hense a little boy had to go to hospital because his leg literaly snapped!. It was terrible. When we complained we were told the manager wasnt around and would contact me. I tried several times to get hold of him after, but still to this day they have not got back to me. We spent a lot of money on these meals and it was all unacceptable. I do hope this review will help you. Dawn kelly.

We were a family of four eating here last week. The food was poor and not one of our party finished the meal. Indeed, despite having ordered four main courses my meal failed to arrive at all , with the exception of the pepper corn sauce. When we realized that they had just failed to inform the Kitchen of my order , they offered to cook my meal but said there would be a twenty minute wait. However, so much time had passed and the three members of the my family all disliked the meals; So i felt i did not miss much. Staff were not experienced and did not apologise for missing my main course , though they did refund us for the pepper corn sauce!

Poor food and poor service, a good place to go if your are on a diet.

Hygeine in this place is not great, cutlery & crockery dirty we had to search for clean items to eat with. Tables & floors etc not cleaned very often & staff slow to clear away after you have finished eating. They do not cope well when it gets a bit busy. The food is nothing special & I certainly wouldn't recommend any friends/family to eat here. The only plus side to the place is the free childs play area & it did look smart when first refurbished but is now looking a bit shabby in places.

My wife and I ate at the Bungalow Inn on the evening of the 18th July 2013. The staff, 2 young lads, were polite but the food was lamentable.

My wife had a lasagne and I had a Bungalow burger with piri piri, stilton and salad. I asked for it to be well done. On arrival the lasagne was passable - it appeared to be a heated up quick meal (not uncommon for a pub meal you could argue), and just passable. The burger arrived with chips; the salad was simply two small leaves of lettuce.

After a bite of the burger I could see it was very red inside; the chips were not cooked through completely, but were edible. As we were about to depart to Italy I didn’t want to risk an upset stomach so I returned the burger and asked for it to be cooked some more.

The same burger (fair enough) was re-presented to me with fresh chips, but the same "salad". The chips were much freshly cooked and much better. The burger was dreadful. With another bite I realised that the colour of the burger was not due to it being undercooked, as second time around it was the same colour, it was just down to it being a poor quality burger. After removing a piece of gristle from the next bite I found it inedible. My wife and I shared the remains of her lasagne.

This I am sad to say was, without doubt, the worst pub meal I have ever had the misfortune to eat (or not, in this case). My wife and I were at the start of a birthday celebration trip to Italy, our first break in 6 years. Given I wanted our holiday to start without awkwardness or confrontation I bowed to my wife’s unspoken request not to ask for a refund of my meal (only), however since my return I have emailed such a request - to which i've had no reply to date.

I advise anyone considering The Bungalow Inn to give it a miss.

We visited The Bungalow today based on reviews on Netmums. We took our 2 daughters aged 5 years and 16 months. Found play area very good with a separate section for younger children however there is nothing to stop bigger children going in.the outdoor space is adequate but quite tired as inside. Felt grubbby especially the seats. Service was slow which was suprising as was pretty dead. We arrived about 8pm. There is a bell to ring when the bar isn't manned. I was waiting for about 10 minutes after I rang it. Once our food came it was nice but nothing special. I found the staff quite young and didn't have the customer service skills you would normally expect. Alot of potential here with the right management of staff. We would visit again as the children did have a great time.

Just had to write a review as had the best roast dinner I have ever had out last Sunday. We did arrive late 2pm ish so there were plenty of tables. The food came very quickly within 15 mins and both roasts pork and beef were lovely. The veg that accompanied was fresh and the cauliflower cheese was yummy too. The staff were very pleasant and the cost of the whole meal including drinks was very reasonable.
We live out of the area but will definitely be returning next time we are in Bristol my son loved the indoor and outdoor play areas.
I can't recommend highly enough.

I have been to this pub many a time since re opening but sunday 14/4/13 was first time going for a sunday roast. We got there about 12.15. The childrens play area/restuarant was packed! We waited 20 mins for a table. 3 tables were reserved, and even one bar staff (female) said its silly reserving tables so early (booking wasnt til 1) anyway. We finally sat down, my 4 year old daughter was very happy to go playing. Me and my partner decided what to have for dinner, he settled on the 8oz sirloin and i decided on the roash chicken dinner and ordered burger for my daughter. We waited about 20 mins for food which i think is fab for how busy it was! Childrens portion was huge so id say great value for money! My roast was delicious, the chicken just fell apart, roast pots were tasty and veg was nice and fresh! (Not frozen) my partner said his steak was the best hes ever had!! He had it well done and it wasnt dry, very tasty. Overall, we all enjoyed our meals. Toilets were clean, staff very friendly, and a nice atmosphere. I will without a doubt be going back for a roast! Yum. Oh also, the roasts were sold out by 2pm!! Says it all1! So i wud suggest buying in more lol. X

Went to the Bungalow Inn over half term with my three children. It was busy as expected for half term but meant my children had plenty of others to play with. We ordered are food and drink together there was a que at the bar but the bar staff were firendly smiley and a apoislsied for the wait. We were told there was a wait on the food which was nice to know before hand but the food came out faster than expected. The kids 5 step meal deal was brilliant a choice of the expected kids meals in a pub but you can choose your 2nd and 3rd options (chips, jacket, new pots) and (peas, beans, sweet corn) fanstic for fussy children. This also covers a drink and dresert all for £5.95 you can't go wrong. My children really enjoyed there mr whippy ice cream with a choice of sauces I even got one for myself. For my meal I had a sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce for a brilliant price of £10.95 I have never enjoyed or had such a wonderful steak for a brilliant low price this also included a free salad bowl where you help yourself in the other restaurant which was all fresh and a great starter. I will definitely be coming here again with my children for the play area and with my husband to enjoy a delious and well priced meal in the quite main restaurant. 5 star rating or the bungalow Inn they have got it spot on.
