We stumbled across this gem of a country pub on our way to visit friends in Bristol.
We were travlling from somerset and need to stop for a quick lunch. we saw the brown tourist sign on the A38 and followed it to the top of Dundry Hill( What a view!!)
I had the Chuck Steak burger which was homemade, delicious and juicy with chunky chips which where fantastic. My friend had the scampi which came presented very nicely, again with the fab chips. We shared a sticky toffee pudding with some local ice cream, which was to die for.
The pub itself has a relaxing atmosphere with a traditional yet modern and clean decor.
When speaking to one of the new owners, He informed me that they had only just opened recently after a refit. I cant wait for another trip to Bristol so i can make another visit.
Keep up the good work.

Shocking Sunday lunch on 23rd June, overpriced, small portions , rock hard and dry roast potatoes, burnt Yorkshire, and what was served was not what it said on the menu. I did complain but the waiter wasn't interested, it was my sons birthday, otherwise I would have sent the food back or refused to pay.It was such a cold room as well. Never again!

This is what a pub should be like. Reminds me of my childhood. The interior has such a warm feel and there is good crowd of people who drink here. The new owners have really turned this place around.
