Stumbled across this pub on a Sunday lunch time looking for a good pint of beer and a snack for lunch before dropping our son off to commence Uni. We were all very impressed, the land lord was so welcoming, and my husband was spoiled for choice for a bitter. The beer was excellent and was even offered a tasting before ordering a pint I opted for a glass of dry white wine which was served in a substantial glass and perfectly chilled. We ordered food from the bar menu, my son had the homemade steak burger which was served rare with fries served on a wooden platter. I opted for the chicken and spicy slaw sandwich and my husband had a salt beef sandwich both of these were served on wooden platters with crisps and dressed leaves. The food was simply lovely, well served and scrumptious with friendly and attentive service. It was reasonably priced and very good value and we will certainly return on our next visit to Bristol. We understand that it had only been opened for four weeks so good luck you deserve to do well.

What a transformation! New owners have changed this from a dingy, tatty pub to a bright, inviting space. Great range of beers on when we visited including wonderful Magic Rock Curious and Camden Hells. Kids made very welcome at weekends and they produced a high chair, colouring pad and crayons for my daughter without me even asking. Food was good - spicy chicken sandwich & pub platter (including purple eggs!) well worth a try. TVs not on when we were there and are saved for big events which was a refreshing change. Very much worth a visit if you're in town, we'll be heading back

Only tend to come here when they have a rock and blues band on. They should do it more often instead of just once every now and then.
