Excellant location by the river but when it's sunny bring your own drinks or be prepared to spend most of your visit standing in a queue in a stuffy bar as service is veerryy ssslllooow!.

Been here a few times and though I although I love the location and history etc, the inside always seemed a bit lack lustre and cold. However, having popped in on my way home from work last week I am pleasently surprised to see it has had a lick of paint, is the cleanest I have ever seen it and now has real warmth and character. The candles on the tables are extremely inviting even on the chillier days. And the staff and manager are friendly, polite and welcoming. I may have to turn my visits into a regular after work jaunt. Fantastic pub.

The wife and I stopped off here last week for something to eat as we couldn't be bothered to cook. The food was very nice and my steak was cooked perfectly. The staffs were efficent and very helpful with my fussy wife. Well worth a visit.
