Tucked away in Denmark Street, it's just around the corner from the Hippodrome Theatre and if you sit in the window of the restaurant, you can watch the comings and goings at the Stage Door of the theatre.
And this was the reason we chose it and booked a table for 6pm midweek; we arrived at about 6.15pm (due to the usual traffic delays in Bristol!) and our order was taken by about 6.30. The starter arrived about 10 minutes later but the mains didn't turn up until 7.10; 2 of the dishes were the wrong order and although they offered to replace them, we didn't have the time - no other apologies were offered. We barely had time to eat the main courses and pay before we had to leave to get to the theatre for the 7.30pm start of the show!
The food was quite good and the restaurant has a nice ambiance but the service really needs some sorting out - although busy, it certainly wasn't full and one would have expected that they would be able to cope with pre-theatre dinners! Will the 4 of us visit again? We might do but not for a pre-theatre meal!
