Bucket and Spade

Ate here last week. Waited for over 30 minutes between courses with empty plates. even after I spoke to the bar manager and he had assured us it would be another 2 or 3 minutes we waited another 15. We watched the only other table get their food and still waited.

When the deserts did turn up we had waited so very long for a chopped up banana! This was not what I had discussed when ordering (the same girl brought the food).

It may seem silly but 30 minutes is a long time with 2 young kids to entertain, especially when there are only 2 tables (6 meals including our 4) in the whole restaurant.

When I complained at the bar I was told by embarrassed staff that there was a party of 40 or so booked into the kids area. When I said I understood but knowing that why was there not more staff on I was told because the boss had refused the extra shifts.

Had a family gathering here today. Great staff, friendly and put up with us! 2 for £10 deal is good but I was not that chuffed with my food, particularly stingy portions of peas with my meal, wife's lasagne was not the warmest. Would go again but wary about the food. Also - one star off for not having ales on tap.

Such a great place for the kiddies, can't reccommend it enough!!
