Remember the pub in the film 'Trainspotting'?, where they mug the US tourist and Renton dives into "the worst toilet in Scotland"? This is the English equivalent.

I've lived locally for 12 years & I've never known anything like it. It's a sad, shabby dump with poor-average beer. Even the barman looked desperate to leave.

The only saving grace is the Irish music session once a month, but nobody goes to hear it and the few in-breds propping up the bar aren't interested. I made that mistake once, and according to them I must have been "mad or lost to come in yere". Or, "mebbeez forrin".

The music was good but I had to leave before I needed the WC (which may or may not be the worst in England) in case the yee-hahs followed me in & futt-bucked me.

Ny Uncles band has played here a couple of times and its always a laugh. The regulars are sound and get right into the music and the staff are really nice and geneours with the spirits.
