For what this place is, i.e. local bar come restaurant/pizzeria I think it's excellent.

It's great value for money and the pizza's are for me the best available in Bedminster/Southville. Service is always with a smile and there is a great selection behind the bar.

The Comedy box has always been a draw but even more so now that downstairs is so nice.

For me the Hen and Chicken is a great place for a pre-show drink or a post work pizza.

I love the Hen & Chicken!

The food is always good and delivered with a smile! More than I can say for most places on North Street.

My husband drinks the real ale which he always comments in good, with a changing guest ale.

Its nice in the daytime to sit and relax with a coffee and my laptop, yet diverse enough that its also good on a Saturday night when its full of people and the DJ plays all my favourites.

The staff are friendly and helpful and unfazed by busy nights.

I havent been to the Comedy Club upstairs but plan to as there seems to be some good acts coming up this winter.

Better than it was certainly and they serve food later than most of the joints of North Street.

The food is patchy as is the atmosphere. I've had a pretty good pizza and a bad one. The bad one was dreadful; dry crayfish, sparsly flavoured with Cherry tomatoes and sheez.

they cooked the Rocket? Roast Rocket! Much like the Tobacco the acoustics make it difficult to hear anyone, anything and so to help us all out they wack up the sounds to drown out the sounds.

No sense, and makes for an uncomfortable time whatever you're up to. Tackling screaming kids, drinking, eating etc. They need to get some consistency with the food.

The Porch boasts some hot chef from Michelin establishments but if he were then it wouldn’t be this patchy.

Still its not the coked up builder bar it used to be, and the one The Spotted Cow down the road currently is.

Prefered the old Hen and Chicken. Ok, I know it wasn't perfect but it felt like a proper pub - cheap booze, jukebox, big screen for football, friendly staff who knew your name and what you drank. This new Hen and Chicken is a wine bar for all those yuppies, students and non locals of Ashton/Bedminster.

What a jolly nice pub, a few friends took us here when we were visiting and had a wonderful meal. Hats off to the chef!
