The pub is very old fashioned which adds a great deal to its character (the best bit), unfortunately the locals are not as pleasant particularly the old guy with grey hair who sits at the end of the bar... I would personally avoid ths pub if you are under the age of 40, at £3.90 a pint the drinks are somewhat expensive and the selection of food is limited and of average quality.
What a delight it was to visit The Kings Head, Victoria Street, Bristol. Like stepping back in time.
A fascinating insight into a bygone era. This tiny little public house retains all of it's character and a real sense of history.
Fortunately, this wonderful Bristol pub has escaped the trend of being brutally robbed of all charm and originality by the usual vulgar modernisation.
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the bartender friendly (ask him about the ghost!), the regulars happy to strike up a conversation.
It is well worth a visit (more than one visit!). We are told the food is excellent too, particularly the pork pies, so we will be back soon.

A true British pub for the true British drinker.
