It looks nothing from outside, and inside is not all decorated up with dragons etc. but the food is just wonderful.
We arrived at 8pm and the restaurant was full of chinese people eating their evening meal at every table.
Our table was ready on time, the staff could not have been more helpful and took the time to explain the difference between their ' English menu' and their real chinese menu.
We opted for a set meal from the normal restaurant and added a couple of dishes from the 'real' menu.
I have eaten chinese food all around the world, this was real food, some of the best I have ever eaten. The taste, the textures and the mix of food just left us all longing to go back.
We tried a noodle and beef dish from the chinese menu, I know now what noodle bars around the UK are trying to achieve. Perhaps watching the Mayflowers chef would give them a few pointers.
So when you go don't be put off by the hidden location or the fact that it does not look posh, just go in and enjoy terrific food at a reasonable price.
