The outside of the building is a bit grey and charmless (for those of you who know Weston, it used to be for many years, the Wun Wah Chinese Restaurant behind the Floral Clock) but what a difference inside! It's light and bright with a contemporary feel, modern art on the wall, comfortable high backed chairs and nice cutlery and table linen - not a trace of flock wallpaper anywhere!
The menu is clearly set out with good descriptions (including indicators as to how hot a dish is) and has a large range of contemporary Indian dishes; for those traditionalists amongst you, there's a section on normal Indian curries! The service is friendly and very good and the dishes are well presented on the plate. The food is wonderful with subtle flavours and scents - I can't single out one dish as they are all so good! There's a wide range of wines and spirits on offer as well as good old Cobra beer on draught.
There's a special lunchtime menu which lets you have a main course and either rice or naan bread and banquet nights when you can sample all sorts of delights.
If you like Indian food, make straight for the Pink Leaf - you won't be disappointed!
