Amid the labyrinthine-like historical streets surrounding St Nicholas market sits Mr Wolf’s Noodle Bar, a veritable hot-bed of noodle-eating, late-night drinking, and dance floor action.

The Venue
Dimly lit, a bit cloistered and certainly in need of a good clean, Mr Wolf’s Noodle Bar could do more to make itself an appealing place to drink and party. But, it seems, they don't need to. In fact, it could be a case here of popularity breeding a complacent attitude.

It’s seldom empty, and more often than not packed to the rafters, albeit when everywhere else has closed for the night.

The People
Because this is the archetypal place people end up after a hard night on it, you tend to encounter a real mixed bag here. The common denominator is a universally high level of intoxication.

It’s very much a place where inhibitions go out the window and flamboyant behaviour reigns supreme. Their dancefloor has the power to lure even the most timid wallflower, and once you've step on it you'll be there all night.

The Music
They regularly put on a wide range of live local music: funk bands, solo artists, reggae and indie outfits, to name but a few. If there’s no band playing, there’s always someone spinning good music over the decks and it has to be said that the music has a high and consistent danceability factor - the DJs at Mr Wolf’s Noodle Bar rarely get it wrong.

The Food and Drink
The trademark noodles are amazingly tasty, freshly prepared and served quickly, but they're not dirt cheap. They range from £4 to £6, and include meat and vegetarian options. They do operate a two for one deal from Monday to Wednesday.

And be warned: the drinks are also expensive here. They have around 20 different beers from across the world and they cost around £3. They also do a good line of absinthes and ciders.

The Last Word
Mr Wolf's Noodle Bar is a reliable, if a little boisterous, after-hours spot, in easy reach of anywhere in the centre. You’ll be lucky if you find anywhere to sit though.
