Visited this pub on sat, restaurant only third full but still waited forty minutes for first course, main course disappointing, chicken dry and salad consisted of small bowl of lettuce and few slices tomatoes and onion. Waitress attentive but service very slow. This used to be a good value pub but now serving overpriced, bland food.

From J.J.T.D & LArrived at 12:20 for a table for 5 booked on the internet for 12:30.Informed that no booking in our name,no apology and told to find our own table--if there was one. Placed orders at bar which took a while. Two starters arrived over 30 minutes later, which were duly eaten, After 3-4 requests for remaining starters, they eventually turned up a further 35 minutes later. At approx. 2:30pm and after persistent requests, finally got main course. All the food O/K, but service sadly lacking. On the plus side!!! were offered free coffee's as compensation.Too Little, Too Late.!!Doubt we will frequent this establishment again

used to visit a lot, but went for Sunday lunch this week and for some reason they have gone small on the portions.

prawn cocktail @ £4.50 = 13 small prawns and 2 bits of lettuce. Upon questioning, was advised that it was the standard side! rip off!

sunday lunch itself was nice, but again, small portions.

go to the priory at portbury instead, miles better!

Visited lunch time friday - party of 7 arrived at 12.30 to beat the rush for food - main course served at 2.05. Complete shambles no communication - when I queried with the guy behind the bar about delay said he'd find out and let me know - no explanation and no apology - and the poor little waitress was about 12. This is the second time we have had this experience of poor service here - we won't be back

Not a big fan of mitchell and butler pubs, dont like their choice of beers and the food is not very innovative. The umbrella seating area is nice though on a sunny day.
