I visited this pub today (16th Aug 2010)
at first seemed nice, until attending the bar, the staff were rude and obnoxious.

eventually resulted in a 17 year old being assaulted by the 'owner' of the club, also the 'owner' pushed an older member of the group out the door, there was lot of shouting and screaming, and may i just add, this all happened in front of a 3 year old.

This all happened due to one of us asking for them to use manners.

I think this pub is rude and horribly run and words need to be had with the licensing officer of WSM as well as the Brewery.

Overall don't even waste your time.

I feel I must respond to this review, the incident did happen but very different to what has been reported.
The gent did attend my premises on that day, His wife placed the order at the bar, the gent then approached the bar swearing and shouting at the two members of bar staff, I (landlady) asked him to keep his language down as we are a family pub, this seemed to make him even more angry. A customer approached the gent and his wife and also asked them to stop as they were upsetting other families, as well as their own), they then started arguing with these customers, the seventeen year old male then joined in threatening myself and the bar staff, at this point i called my partner down from upstairs (the landlord), and also the official security guard who patrols our area.
The family were asked to leave the premises by the security guard, the father resisted and lodged him self in the doorframe, as my partner assisted the security guard, the seventeen year old jumped on my partners back, and the wife was grabbing at his arms, the police arrived along with other security guards, at this time the father was forcibly removed.
After speaking to independent witnesses the family were told to move on before they were arrested for their behavior, the police stated it was a lawful ejection from a licenced premise.
I would like to state the young mother of the group the mother of the three year old, appologised repeatedly for the behavior of her family.
we are a family pub, where we like our customers to feel at ease and relax, this is why we will not accept anti social behavior on the premises.

I visited this pub aproximately 3 weeks ago and was shocked at the poor level of service and sub standard food. I tried one of their 'Specials' which was a moroccan lamb burger only to be served a burnt burger (could have been made of anything) served dry in a cheap bread roll with a few soggy chips and browning salad. When you are paying £6.00 for a burger you have certain expectations, I returned the burger to the sullen chap behind the bar who has about as much customer service skills as a floor mop, the so called 'chef' proceded to return the burger to me and informed me that this was the way it was meant to be served !! I decided that this man was not a proficient cook so rather than argue i asked it to be changed to something simpler a baked potatoe with chilli. I was then served a raw potatoe with tuna and a huge dollop of mayonaise on top with the same brown salad and soggy chips from the last meal. Yet again I complained and was joined by a couple on the adjacent table who had also sent their food back in disgust. The staff are not trained correctly , the aging rocker 'chef' obviously needs to go. Its a shame because you can see that the chap who owns the place is trying but in this day and age he needs much better staff , I wonder if he knows how bad a reputation he is getting ?

Much better. The name change a good thing. Rep and stuff quashed by the previous owners, but, these are good clean and very good homely food, at very reasonable prices, with a plethra of events and team things going on.
